Bishop Charles Muturi Appointed Commissary of Machakos Diocese

In a significant development for the Machakos Diocese, The Archbishop, Most Rev’d Dr. Jackson Ole Sapit appointed Rt. Rev’d Canon Charles Muturi, the Sixth Bishop of Mt. Kenya South, as the new Commissary of Machakos Diocese. The appointment was made during a meeting with the Members of the Standing Committee of Synod of Machakos Diocese, marking an important step in the leadership transition.

The appointment of Bishop Muturi as Commissary comes after the retirement of Rt. Rev’d Joseph Kioko Mutungi, the former Bishop of Machakos Diocese. This decision now paves the way for the nomination, search, and election of the 4th Bishop of Machakos Diocese.

As the Commissary, Bishop Muturi will play a crucial role in managing the electoral process for the new bishop, while also overseeing the administration, pastoral care, and episcopal duties within the diocese. His experience and leadership will ensure a smooth transition and continuity in the work of the church during this important period of change.
